Exploring the Historic Thames: From Dorchester to Day’s Lock with Oak

A Haven for Visitors:
Unsurprisingly, the Wittenham Clumps have become the most popular outdoor site in Oxfordshire, attracting over 200,000 visitors each year. To cater to this demand, a car park was established in 1971, ensuring easy access for all. The extensive network of paths offers year-round exploration on foot, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature’s wonders. Notably, a path through the wooded area atop Round Hill was reopened in 2005 after a two-decade closure, providing an even richer experience. To preserve the site and its surroundings, the Earth Trust diligently maintains the area as a Nature Reserve.
