Tap Social Movement Pub, A Haven for Dog Owners and Social Change

Tap Social

Last night, my friend Simon and I decided to take Oak, my loyal black Labrador, for a night out at the Tap Social Movement Pub. Known for its dog-friendly atmosphere, this establishment warmly welcomes four-legged companions. Although there were no dog biscuits readily available at the bar, I’m confident that they would have gladly provided a refreshing bowl of water upon request. As we entered, there was only one other furry friend in the pub, but Oak quickly became the center of attention as many people came over to shower her with affection. Surprisingly, most of them confessed that they were unaware dogs were allowed, but now that they knew, they promised to bring their own furry pals along.

The concept of dog-friendly establishments, similar to the Tap Social Movement Pub, holds great value. By creating an environment that welcomes dogs, pet owners no longer have to rush home to tend to their beloved companions, allowing them to relax, spend more time, and ultimately, contribute to the local economy. Just like the term “Pink money” describes the purchasing power of the LGBT community, it would be fitting to envision a canine-friendly equivalent for the dog-loving consumer base.
Tap Social, support the LGBT, they have a Unisex toilet. They are craft brewers, making new flavors of beer each with unique names. See poster below advertising Oxford Pride beer which is a 3.5% pale ale.

Stepping away from the delightful dog-friendly aspect, the Tap Social Movement Pub offers an impressive range of alcohol-free cask beers that were simply delightful. Simon and I enjoyed two pints each, appreciating the fact that these beverages were indistinguishable from their alcoholic counterparts. It’s a perfect solution for those who need to stay sober while still relishing the taste of a quality brew.

The pub was split up into two floors, we sat on the top floor which had an amazing view if the bar below. Oak had plenty of room for Oak to spread out. We perched on the long bar so we could watch the quiz show below.

Furthermore, the pub boasts an intriguing display of art adorning its walls, creating an atmosphere that sparks curiosity and intrigue. Live bands, street food, and quiz nights are also regular features, ensuring there’s always something exciting happening at the Tap Social Movement Pub. Digging into their history, which I’ve reworded from their website, Tap Social grew from a deep-rooted passion for both exceptional beer and social justice. As a craft brewery and hospitality social enterprise, their core mission is to provide employment and training opportunities for ex-offenders. They firmly believe that when nobody is excluded from the job market, society as a whole thrives.

In summary, the Tap Social Movement Pub is not only a haven for dog owners but also a catalyst for positive social change. By embracing dogs, offering alcohol-free alternatives, and fostering an inclusive environment, they are successfully creating a space that brings people together while providing second chances to those who need them most. So, next time you’re in the mood for a memorable evening out, consider joining the Tap Social Movement and contribute to their inspiring cause, one pint at a time.
