Transport and parking that’s available in Oxford City.
Travelling around Oxford city with your furry friend has never been easier! Whether you’re visiting as a tourist or a local resident, there are several dog-friendly transport options available to help you get around.
The tour bus is a great way to see the city’s famous landmarks with your dog. Dogs are welcome on board, as long as they are on a lead and don’t take up a seat. You can sit back and enjoy the sights while your furry companion sniffs out new smells.
If you’re planning to park outside the city centre and take a bus into town, you’ll be pleased to know that dogs are allowed on local buses too. However, please note that only one dog is allowed on each bus at a time, and you’ll need to keep your dog on a lead throughout the journey.
For those travelling by train, you’ll be happy to know that dogs are also allowed on board. However, you’ll need to carry your dog onto the train to avoid them falling though the gap. No dogs siting on the seats and keep them on a lead throughout the journey. This can be a bit challenging if you have a larger dog, so plan accordingly. The staff at the oxford city railway are so dog friendly!

Please not that the Botley road, is closed at the railway bridge. You can walk into town under the bridge. Some dogs might find this route a bit distressing as its under the bridge in a smallish walk way, and can be very crowded with people pushing their bikes or even motorbikes. Plus there is the noise of the workers and their equipment.
